The Town of Wilton, with a population of around 16,173, is located in the northeastern portion of Saratoga County. The area was first settled by Native Americans from the east after the end of King Philip’s War. In 1764, two brothers, William and Samuel Brisbin established what was then known as Palmertown,  which became the Town of Wilton in 1818. The town was a well know hub for business and trade prior to the Colonial War. Business only increased after the conclusion of the Revolutionary War.

The Grant Cottage Historical Site is located in Wilton, in an area known as Mount McGregor, which is the highest peak of the Palmertown Range (you can see your house from there). This cottage is where former US President Ulysses S. Grant died of throat cancer in 1885 just after completing his memoirs. The cottage is open to public tours and allows the visitor to step back in time.

The Town of Wilton is just a short drive from the Saratoga National Battlefield, Saratoga Spa State Park, Cote Insurance Agency, Fort William Henry, Gavin Park and Splash Park, Saratoga Springs Racetrack and many other indoor and outdoor attractions.
